Bella Coola Valley Restaurant

Prior to us purchasing Bella Coola Valley Restaurant, Kendall was having to work away from home for a large part of the year. When Kendall and Angela had their first child, they knew that they needed a change. The opportunity arose to purchase the Valley Restaurant, and they jumped in with both feet!

Angela loves having the ability to change things for the better. Having worked in many restaurants over the years, she always wanted to improve things and make positive changes but was never in a position to do see. Now, she loves changing things around the restaurant to continually make it more welcoming.

This local couple is proud of the quality and speed they are able to maintain during busy meals. In Kendall's words "We don't try to be something we're not...we are proud to serve our no-frills food quickly. It's food that people can enjoy and then either stay and chat or head out on their next adventure!"

The best part about living in Bella Coola for Kendall and Angela is the people.They appreciate that their small business has granted them the ability to harbour special relationships with their community that they may not have established otherwise.

"People are so nice to each other here, says Kendall. it's honestly the friendliest place I've ever been! Our "regulars" have become friends, and going to work is so easy when you're surrounded by people that make you smile. I love getting to hear stories from different generations and making new acquaintances; every day is something new!"

"Bella Coola is more like a very large adopted family," explains Angela. "People here look out for each other, they are always willing to help out any way they can. You don't get that in a big city! It's wonderful knowing that this great community has your back!"

When time allows for it, Angela and Kendall love exploring the Chilcotin. We like to hike, bike and spend as much time as possible with our family, including our dog! They feel optimistic about the future of small businesses in Bella Coola, that with continued support, the economy will remain strong. It excites them to have noticed many new entrepreneurs popping up in the community throughout the last few years. "We love seeing Bella Coola start to thrive." says Kendall, "People making a living doing what they love is contagious."
