Bella Coola Wild Craft
Bella Coola Wild Craft is a home based studio in Bella Coola that sells the artwork of Kathleen Booth as well as art supplies. Artist Kathleen creates bold and beautiful painted collages and jewellery with natural materials such as tree bark, stones, moss and driftwood. Artworks are made from found natural materials make up Bella Coola Wild Craft’s broad portfolio. Kathleen’s paintings, sculptures, postcards, posters, souvenirs and more are available to purchase at her Bella Coola Wildcraft studio.
In a corner of Bella Coola Wild Craft guests will find a variety of brushes, paints, papers, some canvases, abalone buttons, beads, beeswax, stained glass and more. The studio’s changing variety of art supplies provides a local option for artists to restock their materials.
She encourages people to drop in and view her work while they are out and about in the community. Bellla Coola Wild Craft doesn’t have regular hours and remains flexible with a “ring the bell” for service at the main entrance. Kathleen urges curious visitors and locals alike to “ring the bell” and come and tour her art studio and art supply corner too.

Kathleen is originally from Quebec and moved to Bella Coola from Winnipeg in 2011. She has studied art her whole life and was drawn to the beautiful setting of Bella Coola. "The number one thing I love here is the Nuxalk community," said Kathleen, "they make this little location, which is already a paradise, about 100 times better."
Kathleen notes there is a very active artistic community in her small community and everyone is very supportive of one another. The Bella Coola area is full of inspirational scenes for Kathleen's artist soul and there is a vast array of natural materials available to create with. "There is fuel for creativity everywhere," said Kathleen. She enjoys walking the forest trails and mentions Walker Island as a great level walk amongst beautiful old cedars.
Kathleen feels that the businesses of Bella Coola and area really cooperate with one another and strive to bring in a wide variety of things locals need and want. "For such a remote community you can always find what you are looking for," said Kathleen. She is proud that her business, Bella Coola Wild Craft, brings in and stocks a variety of art materials and supplies. Kathleen feels rewarded when customers find the art supplies and art materials they need in her store.
